Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Paw Atlas, developed by fragment ("we," "us"), handles information when you use the app. Paw Atlas is designed so that your data stays under your control: it lives on your device and, if you're signed into iCloud, is synced privately to your own iCloud account. We don't run our own servers for your data, and we don't sell or share it with advertisers.

Information We Collect

• Pet & care information you enter — pet profiles, weight, food and treats, diary entries and photos, training goals, expenses, appointments, and vet/groomer contact details.
• Location — while you're on a walk, Paw Atlas uses your location to measure distance and draw your route and heat map. Location is only collected during an active walk.
• Health & fitness data — with your permission, Paw Atlas saves each finished walk to Apple Health as a workout (distance, duration, and route), so other Health-connected apps can see it too. It only reads back your own past Paw Atlas workouts, to avoid saving the same walk twice — no other Health data is read.
• Motion data — step counts during a walk, used to measure activity.
• Photos — with your permission, Paw Atlas saves your Weekly and Monthly Review cards to your photo library when you tap "Save to Photos."
• Calendar — with your permission, Paw Atlas adds an event to your calendar when you choose to save a vet or groomer appointment.
• Account (optional) — if you choose to sign in with Apple, we store your Apple-provided identifier, and your name and email if Apple supplies them, to identify your account within the app.
• Purchases — Premium is purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes payment; we never see or store your card details.

How We Use Your Information

We use this information solely to provide Paw Atlas's features: tracking your pet's care, recording walks, sending reminders, and generating your review summaries. We do not use your data for advertising, do not build cross-app or cross-site profiles, and do not sell your data to anyone.

Where Your Data Lives

Your data is stored locally on your device. If you're signed into iCloud, it's also synced through Apple's CloudKit to your own private iCloud database, so it follows you across your devices. fragment does not operate a server for this data and cannot access it.

Third-Party Services

Paw Atlas relies on a small number of Apple services to work:

• Apple WeatherKit — your approximate location at the time of a walk is sent to Apple to fetch current weather conditions.
• Apple HealthKit — as described above.
• Apple iCloud / CloudKit — for private, cross-device sync of your data.
• Sign in with Apple and Apple In-App Purchase — for optional account sign-in and Premium purchases.

These are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is kept until you delete it. You can delete individual entries, pets, or care providers within the app at any time. Deleting the app removes the data stored on that device; if you're signed into iCloud, deleting the corresponding records in-app also removes them from your private iCloud database. To request help with deletion, contact us below.

Children's Privacy

Paw Atlas is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

You can review or change permissions for Location, Health, Motion, Photos, Calendar, and Notifications at any time in iOS Settings > Paw Atlas. Signing in with Apple and Premium purchases are both optional.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
