About Paw Atlas

A daily companion for your dog

Paw Atlas is built around one idea: the real value is the record you build up over time. Every walk, meal, photo and diary entry adds up to a history of your dog's life, and the app is designed so that history is worth keeping. It lives on your device and, if you're signed into iCloud, syncs privately to your own iCloud account. There are no ads, no trackers, and no servers of ours in between.

Diary & Daily Care

• Diary — one scrapbook page per day. Each entry (a walk, a meal, a note, a photo, a training session) is written up as a short sentence with names highlighted, with the matching card cut out beneath it. Choose from six diary fonts, from rounded and serif to handwritten and typewriter.
• Today Summary — the day's distance, walking time, steps and treats in one card, with progress toward the daily and weekly goals you've set. Switch it between today and this week, and share it as an image.
• Quick actions — add photos, log a meal, jot a note or log a training session without leaving the Diary.
• Calendar & Appointments — every logged day on a month grid, where each day's circle can show distance, time, steps or treats. Vet and groomer appointments live here too, with reminders.
• Photos & Notes — attach photos and notes to any day. Notes can be flagged as medical so they appear in the vet export.

Food & Nutrition

• Meals & Treats — log meals and treats as you give them, with calories counted against your dog's daily total. Treats can carry their own daily limits and a photo; older ones can be archived rather than deleted.
• Splurges — bigger, less frequent treats are tracked separately so they don't distort the daily count.
• Defined Meals — save the meals you feed regularly as reusable presets.
• Nutrient Targets — set daily targets for protein, fat, carbohydrates, fibre and moisture, and see how each meal contributes. Wet and dry food are tracked separately.

Walks

• GPS Tracking & Route Maps — every walk is recorded with a real GPS route, distance, duration, pace and steps.
• Two Dogs at Once — walk two dogs together. Each dog gets its own walk record, treats, bathroom breaks and achievements from one shared route.
• Breaks, Treats & Markers — pause for a break, log bathroom breaks and treats mid-walk, drop a favourite place where you're standing, and pin custom markers to the map.
• Pace Colours — redraw a finished route from red (slow) to green (fast) to see where you dawdled and where you marched.
• Routes — save the route from any walk, then choose it again on a future walk and watch it fill in as you retrace it. Finished walks are also checked against your saved routes, so covering 60% of one counts even if you didn't pick it.
• Live Activity — an active walk shows on your lock screen and Dynamic Island, with controls to log treats and bathroom breaks, pause, resume or finish. An optional live map of your route can be switched on in Settings.
• Walk Recovery — if the app is interrupted mid-walk, it offers to continue, save or discard the walk the next time it opens.
• Apple Health — finished walks are saved to Health as walking workouts with their route.

Stats, Insights & Review

• Charts & All-Time Totals — explore distance, steps, time and treats by week, month, three months, six months or year, and see lifetime totals for walks, distance, treats, meals and more.
• 78 Insights — observations drawn from your own logs, organised into ten categories: walking, bathroom, treats, social, training, places, routes, territory, food and health.
• Weekly & Monthly Review — a designed, slide-by-slide look back at the week or month just gone, which you can save to your photo library.
• Shareable Images — walks, charts, all-time stats, insights, summaries and review slides can be exported as images, in any theme, in light or dark, with a choice of background patterns.

Atlas

• Memory Lane — every favourite place you've visited and the walks that passed through it, a gallery of your dog's pictures, and a Photo Collage maker.
• Care — vet and groomer contacts, medications with reminders and a dose history, heat cycle tracking, and a one-tap Medical Export PDF to bring to appointments.
• Explore — Territory, a map that reveals as you cover new ground; favourite places with photos and descriptions; custom markers; and saved Routes.
• More — pet friends your dog knows, training goals you're working on together, and an expense tracker for what you spend on their care.

Health

• Medication Reminders — schedule medications with reminders and keep a history of what's been given and when.
• Heat Cycle Tracking — log and track heat cycles for female dogs over time.
• Weight History — keep a weight log in kilograms or pounds, with an optional monthly weigh-in reminder, and your dog's age tracked alongside it.
• Appointment Reminders & Calendar Sync — appointments can be added to your device's calendar as well as reminded about by Paw Atlas.

Extras

• Achievements — 145 achievements across thirteen categories, including hidden ones, many of them repeatable.
• Themes — six colour themes (Default, Ember, Twilight, Meadow, Ocean and Blossom), each with light and dark appearances, plus a matching alternative app icon.
• Home Screen Widget — today's summary, weekly goal ring or treats gauge, in four styles.
• Smart Tips — 28 gentle, personalised nudges about walks, meals, weight, bathroom habits, routine and care, based on your own logs.
• Multiple Dogs — switch between pets from any screen, each with their own history.
